INCLUSION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN THE LABOUR MARKET: DISENTANGLING INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYABILITY CHARACTERISTICS

In this study, we used data derived from different administrative sources to investigate the phenomenon of the job placement of people with disabilities in the context of targeted placement services in Lombardy region. According to the analysis carried out on our sample, within the period considered (2018-2022), there was an increase in the proportion of people employed through the targeted placement mechanisms over the years. Also, the share of individuals hired with permanent contracts increased. Among the most relevant characteristics influencing the chances of getting employment: citizenship, age, education, and degree of disability. Regarding the odds of being hired with a permanent contract, also gender matters.
