Abstract

This paper discusses the utilisation of conjoint analysis in the labour market by investigating the case of companies hiring new graduates. Specifically, the analysis is based on the Education-for-Labour Elicitation from Companies’ Attitudes towards UniversityStudies (ELECTUS) project, involving 471 enterprises with 15 or more employees operating in Lombardy. The paper investigates the decision process for selecting candidates with the best skill sets. The conjoint analysis is able to examine the companies’ preferences using the part-worth utilities and an index of economic re-evaluation for the position of information and communications technology assistant.
